Packaging & Waste Reduction Policy

Gephra Sustaina

Last Updated: December 20, 2025

Operated by Gephra Ltd

Purpose

This policy encourages vendors to reduce packaging waste, eliminate harmful materials, and move toward circular packaging solutions without compromising product safety or customer experience.

Scope

Applies to all products sold or shipped through the platform, including local and international deliveries.

Core Requirements

Vendors must:

  • Package products securely and responsibly to avoid damage or loss.
  • Avoid misleading claims such as "eco-friendly" or "zero waste" unless evidence exists.
  • Disclose packaging materials used if asked by customers or platform audits.

The implementation is advisory. In future phases, disclosure fields will become structured and mandatory.

Recommended Sustainable Packaging Practices

Vendors are strongly encouraged to:

  • Prioritize recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, or reusable packaging.
  • Reduce excessive material usage and empty space.
  • Use paper-based fillers instead of plastic where practical.
  • Avoid single-use plastics such as Styrofoam.
  • Use minimal branding to reduce ink/chemical load.

These practices may unlock future sustainability badges and marketplace visibility advantages.

Transparency & Claims

If vendors claim sustainable packaging, they should be ready to support it with:

  • supplier documents,
  • certifications, or
  • material composition details.

Unverified claims may be removed to protect customer trust.

Customer Expectations

We ask customers to responsibly recycle or re-use packaging when possible. Disposal instructions may be added to product pages in future updates.
